Seattle played a fantastic game on Saturday. Ball Possesion was great, the passing was impressive and the defense was rock solid. The caper was Michael Fucito had a excellent goal in the 90th minute that got the Sounders their well deserved 3 point.

Oh and Brad Evans totally redeemed himself.

Michael Fucito was the official man of the match, but I really believe that Osvaldo Alonso was the full 90 man of the match. Alonso had more time on the ball then any Sounder on the pitch. Defensively and Offensively he pressured Kansas City and helped the Sounders win the ever so important possession game. When you are 1 out of 22 players on the field and you provide that much quality time on the ball, you really deserve the credit.

Next up for the Sounders is FC Dallas away at Pizza Hut Park.

A lot of press saw Saturdays game as a let down for the Sounders. Yeah Seattle didn’t have the best passing game ever, but what they did do that matters more then anything else in a game was score. What’s even more impressive is that they scored 2 goals against one of the best teams in the MLS.

I would be a lot more worried if the match had ended in a 0-0 tie.

The stats for the game look pretty dismal overall, but the game was tight and really could have gone either way.

Many comments were directed towards the fact that both times RSL scored against the Sounders, the goal scorer was being marked by Brad Evans. I looked at both of the replays and that is correct, but the goals were not 100% his fault. In the first goal he needed to be (a lot) tighter to his mark, but in the second goal, Brad was all over Soborio. Soborio just did a really great job of getting up and getting a head on the ball.

The Sounders will be back at home next week and will take on Kansas City. In the game preview, we’ll take a look at what has changed for Kansas City since last season and we’ll look back and see how the Seattle Sounders did last season against Kansas City.

Wow that was a great game. The Sounders came back from a 1-0 deficit to beat FC Dallas 2-1 in their final regular season game.

Unfortunately, LA Galaxy just beat San Jose 2-0 and have clinched first in the Western Division. The Seattle Sounders FC still have a chance at second in the Western Division, but it all depends on the game tomorrow between the Houston Dynamo and Chivas.

If Chivas wins we take third, if Houston wins we take third, but if they tie, we take second.

Congrats to the Seattle Sounders on their win at home and lets root for a tie tomorrow between Houston and Chivas!

In a spectacular match, the Seattle Sounders FC beat the Columbus Crew 1-0 in a heated game. This game had MLS cup play written all over it. Even though Columbus had clinched the first playoff spot before the match, they still came at Seattle with their all, but Seattle battled right back and held their 1 goal lead provided by Roger Levesque.

Next up for Seattle Sounders FC is Kansas City, It doesn’t look like Kansas is going to make it into the playoffs, but in a league as tight as this years MLS. it’s anybody’s game. The game is next Saturday, the 17th, at 5:30 (PST) in Kansas City,

x – Clinched Playoff Spot

In the Sounders last two meetings with Chivas, Chivas has proved to be the winner. The Sounders FC team played well in both games but could not convert their goal scoring opportunities into goals.

Chivas is a challenging team that will make your defense pay if you give the ball away near your goal. Many of their goals this season were credited to their aggressive midfield and quick forwards. The Sounders key to victory is to not have easy giveaways near the goal and to convert their goal scoring opportunities.

Game time is Noon on Sat the 19th.

A game like yesterdays is not worth dwelling on and worrying about next time you get on the field. Normally you want to learn from you mistakes so you can grow as a team, but it’s kind of hard to learn from a game where nothing worked.
